Embracing Curiosity. Removing Barriers. Building Confidence. Expanding Possibilities.

Our Mission

Every adventure begins with possibility

Our mission is to reduce barriers and provide thoughtfully supported opportunities for people with disabilities. We help individuals build life skills, participate more fully in everyday life and adventure, and confidently explore new interests, experiences, and possibilities.

Through thoughtful preparation, dynamic adaptations during real-world experiences, and caregiver coaching, we empower clients and their support networks to safely engage in the activities that matter most. In doing so, we build lasting skills, confidence, and supports that create meaningful participation long after our time together.

Whether that means navigating a grocery store, exploring a park, attending community events, finding a new passion, enjoying the outdoors, traveling, or pursuing a lifelong dream, ASA empowers individuals and families to discover new possibilities, approach life with curiosity, and embrace opportunities for participation in both everyday moments and extraordinary adventures. We believe every meaningful experience, whether part of everyday life or a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, is an adventure worth embracing.

The Amber Seal Adventures Approach

Experiences Designed Around the Individual

Every person has a unique way of experiencing and engaging with the world. Rather than asking individuals to adapt to the activity, we adapt the activity to support the individual.

We thoughtfully design every adventure around each client’s unique communication style, sensory needs, strengths, special interests, and the supports that help them thrive. We then integrate neurodiversity-affirming practices, sensory regulation strategies, multimodal communication, individualized supports & adaptations, and personal interests to reduce barriers, build skills, foster confidence, encourage curiosity, and support authentic, sustainable participation.

The Story Behind The Name

Amber Seal Adventures reflects the meaningful inspirations behind Katie’s vision. “Amber” is inspired by Katie’s search and rescue experience, representing the importance of thoughtful preparation, awareness, and informed decision-making when navigating new environments. “Seal” represents her lifelong love of marine life and the curiosity and exploration embodied by our local Puget Sound harbor seals. Together, the name represents approaching life with curiosity, creating opportunities for meaningful participation, and recognizing that every experience can be an adventure, whether building everyday skills or pursuing new experiences.
